I heard a quote the other day that stopped me in my tracks:
Expect today to be a $50,000 day and then show up as that person.
And I immediately thought:
I really should change out of these week-old pajamas.
Now I don’t know too many $50K-a-day entrepreneurs, but I’d venture a guess that they don’t hit snooze six times, take a whimsical approach to tackling their to-do lists, and sometimes forget to brush their teeth. (I would know nothing about any of those things, btw).
No, $50K-a-day folk show up to their workdays like highly paid assassins.
And they’ve probably been doing that since back in the days when they only(!) made $5K a day.
And that, my friends, is an example of manifesting. Of living the dream. Of being “high-vibe,” as the cool kids call it.
And it’s a good practice for a couple of reasons. Reason number one . . .
Your Mind Doesn’t Know What it Doesn’t Know
So trick it. No joke.
Dr. Joe Dispenza discusses this, and it’s a bit nuts to think about. It turns out your subconscious doesn’t know the difference between fiction and reality. Dr. Joe argues that if you exist in a state of elevated emotion—in other words, gratitude for what hasn’t actually happened yet—you create a new state of being.
So if you live as if you already are your future self—as in, you can close your eyes and see, smell, taste and touch that reality—your mind starts to believe it.
As long as you deviate from doing the same thing at the same time with the same people (read: being the old you), and instead, ask yourself, what is the greatest expression of myself that I can be today, you can walk a new path. Do this while becoming conscious of your old thought patterns so you can stop them in their tracks, and you’ll be unstoppable.
A highly paid assassin.
And if manifesting your dreams isn’t enough of a reason for you . . .
Being Alive is Cause for Celebration
We all know someone who keeps plastic covers on their couch or is always saving the good wine for a special occasion. Perhaps you are that someone.
And if you are, sorry for what I’m about to say.
But that’s just dumb.
This week marked one year since the US went into coronavirus lockdown. If that isn’t a reminder that everyday life is special enough to warrant the use of the good china, I don’t know what is.
What would happen if we wore our best clothes and set a beautiful table and drank champagne with hotdogs? Might we become more present? More conscious of the simple beauty inherent in our day-to-day existence? More aware that we’re worth it?
Because we ARE worth it.
And knowing that—believing it to the very core of your being—is the only way you’re ever going to manifest a $50,000 day. Or the love of your life. Or the cute little cottage you can’t stop fantasizing about.

If you’re interested in bringing about some positive change in your life—big or small—try the following exercises to level up your energetic frequency to align with what you want to magnetize.
1. Spend some time, perhaps during a meditation or journaling session, envisioning the life of your dreams. What are you wearing? Where are you living? What music are you listening to while you dine on which of your favorite foods? Indulge yourself in your imagination and feel how magnificent it is to be that person living that life. How does (s)he feel about herself/himself? Grateful? Excited? Proud?
2. Journal about what your perfect day looks like from the moment you wake until you lay your head down to sleep. I had to do multiple versions of this (ie. the “at-home” perfect day and the “on-the-road” perfect day), but however it looks for you, it will help flesh out your dream life in the rich detail necessary to call in some high-vibe emotions.
3. Make a list and title it “A Few of My Favorite Things.” Then write down all the things that you love but don’t often (or ever) allow yourself to have. It can range from fresh berries to horseback riding lessons. Then, little by little, begin letting yourself have these treats. Because you’re worth it. And the best version of you knows that life is short and that you should treat yo’self all the days.
And finally, rinse and repeat.
It doesn’t work to do this once and forget about it.
Our habitual thoughts keep us stuck where we are, either because we’re dwelling on the past or feeling uncertain about the future (because we believe it will be like the past). To be high-vibe, you must try your damndest to be high-vibe all the time. Wear the clothes Future You wears. Drink the good champagne and toast to your abundance. When you have to make a decision, take a moment to ground and center yourself and ask Future You what path to take. Give thanks every day for having everything you need.
Be open to opportunity, and it will find you.
In the meantime, keep showing up like a highly paid assassin.
